Güzelyurt is the one Larnaca route that never goes near the Nicosia checkpoints. We cross west of the capital at Bostancı (Astromeritis), which sits just south of the town, and come into the citrus country from below. On the clock it is the longest of these drives, around an hour and three quarters, and also the most direct.

Which border crossing is used for Güzelyurt?
Bostancı, known as Astromeritis on the southern side. It lies just south of Güzelyurt, so the route leaves the road west of the capital instead of driving into Nicosia and back out again.
Why does Güzelyurt take longer than Kyrenia from Larnaca?
It sits further west — about thirty-five kilometres beyond Nicosia — so the distance is simply greater. The Bostancı crossing keeps the drive as short as it can be; routing through the capital would add to it.
