Güzelyurt to Lefke is the short hop that holds this whole region together — twenty-two kilometres west along the coast road, about twenty minutes, past Kalkanlı and the METU campus and down through Gemikonağı. It is the busiest line here and the least likely to be covered by a passing car: students, campus staff and people going to the beach all move along the same stretch, and almost none of it is walkable.

- The METU Northern Cyprus campus at Kalkanlı sits directly on this road, roughly ten kilometres out of Güzelyurt. Name the dorm block or faculty building rather than just the campus and the driver comes to the right gate.
- Soli and Vouni are on this route, not a detour from it. If you want to stop at the mosaics or climb to the palace on the way, say so when you call — it changes the timing, not the road.
- Gemikonağı beach is the natural summer end of this trip. Coming back after dark, there is nothing waiting on that coast road, so arrange the return leg before you go.
