About this transfer
The drive to Kyrenia splits into three clear parts: about forty-five minutes of motorway to the edge of Nicosia, five to fifteen minutes at the Metehan (Ağırdağ) checkpoint depending on the hour, then twenty to twenty-five minutes over the mountains and down into town. Seventy-five minutes in all, in one car, with your passport the only thing asked of you.

Good to know on this route
- Metehan is the checkpoint we use for Kyrenia. Early mornings and late evenings are quietest; weekday rush hours and summer afternoons are when the lanes build up.
- A hire car picked up in the south usually cannot be taken north, and rental insurance rarely covers the line. One car on both sides avoids the question entirely.
- Ercan is closer to Kyrenia, but its flights connect through Turkey. If a direct flight into Larnaca suits you better, the extra half hour on the road is the trade.
Every transfer includes
- Meet & greet at arrivals with your name sign
- Flight tracking — delays never change your fare
- Tolls, parking and 45 min airport waiting
- Licensed, professional chauffeur
- 24 / 7 multilingual support

Questions about this route
How long does the border crossing to Kyrenia take?
Usually five to fifteen minutes at Metehan, depending on the time of day — which is what turns a fifty-minute drive into a seventy-five-minute one. You stay in the vehicle throughout and there is no fee for passengers.
Should I fly into Ercan instead for Kyrenia?
Ercan is closer and needs no crossing, but almost all of its flights connect through Turkey. A direct Larnaca ticket is often cheaper overall, and because the transfer fare is fixed you can compare door to door before booking.
